Troy's frustration shows how unfair treatment at work can hold people back just because of their race. It makes us realize that even today, not everyone gets an equal chance to succeed. If I were in his shoes, I would feel angry and tired of dealing with a system that works against me. However, I would try to speak up and team up with others to fight for better treatment. It takes both personal strength and working together to make things right and have a great impact for others.

Rose stood out to me the most in the play. In Fences, you are able to see how Rose was always a supportive character. Rose always stood up for her son when Troy would disagree on something or not approve of but Rose always made sure to stand up for her son and make sure he was happy. Although she went through problems with her relationship, she was still trying her best to be herself and take over her life and not be controlled anymore. My project represent that I learned the play by representing items that describes the type of person that Rose is and how each item I chose relates to her life.

I think forgiving someone doesn’t mean you have to forget what they did. Forgiving someone can help you make peace and let go of any anger you’ve held onto. However, it doesn’t mean that they will forget the actions that were done but will start to make careful choices. In my experience, an old fried s of mine broke a promise and shared a personal story I have told them to someone I have told them not to share. They broke my trust but they apologized and forgave them overtime. I didn’t want the friendship to ruined but it made me learn to be more careful on the things I share to and who.

On character that appeared differently in the movie was Cory when he had a fight against Troy. I thought Cory was going to be more aggressive towards Troy like in the book but he seemed less confident and was a bit scared going against his father. The movie didn’t really change how I understood the character because the characters are still similar to the book but only the way they act.

I think one major lie or betrayal can change how you see someone. When someone lies to you or betrays you, you will constantly be reminded of what they did to you and can loose trust for them over time. Even if they say they are telling the truth, you will overthinking and start doubting if they are telling the truth. Trust can be rebuilt but it will take time for the person to trust you again but will just have to keeping proving to them overtime.

I believe a parent should owe their child everything they could to show them that they care about them. I think other than providing for them, they should show their support for them and love. I think it should be expected from the parents to show live, encouragement, support, etc. because the child is expecting it from them. In my perspective, a lot of children want their parents support and love to know that they are there for them.

I had to choose something I wanted to but needed to do. Last year I wanted to go to a concert on finals week. I wanted to buy the tickets and go with my friends but I knew if i went I would not get any study time and can affect my grades. I ended up jot getting the tickets and stayed home to study. I was satisfied with my choice because I ended up passing my exam and didn’t really care about not going anymore.

I think parents should love, provide, and take care of their children and also liking them as well because children have feelings and need to be understood. Loving someone is showing affection and spending time with them for them to feel loved and being there for them when times are difficult. Liking someone is liking their personality or just enjoy spending time with them. I disagree with Troy’s view of parenting because Cory is his son and should be supportive of him and actually try to understand him which can cause problems in the future between their family. Troy should make his son feel loved and cared and take care of his needs

I think adult children should ask their to borrow money but only if it’s necessary. Adult children's may be financially stable but may still need money for school or other problems they may have. In my experience, adult childrens from my families have asked their parents for money to pay their tuition for college and a car they are trying to buy. They borrow money but pay their parents back because they have earned the money to give back to them. Adult childrens should borrow money from their parents as long as it’s for something efficient to them.

A “fence” I have built in my life was keeping myself from spending a lot of money. I did this to protect myself from spending things I didn’t need and would constantly spend money everyday. I realized then I needed to set a barrier for myself and start learning to save up money for when it’s convenient to have. After setting that barrier”fence”, Ive learned a lot about saving money and don’t spend as much as I did before.

The presentations taught me that you would never expect what people have interests in that you might think at first before getting tot know them. Everyone had their own preferences which I found interesting because you would’ve never thought what they are into. I think it was nice seeing what everyone liked and shared it to the class so that we can know a little more about them and not just seeing beyond the surface. I got to know my classmates better with their cultural identity masks and where they come from.

A time I felt I truly belonged was my church camp we did a year ago. I went to a mini trip for my church to get closer with God and get closer with other people in my church. I felt like I understood everybody and then understood me when we would talk about anything. I felt a sense of comfort and was grateful for them being in my life. I felt a connection and knewI could trust them with anything. I think what created that feeling was goin to church camp and all connecting with God together and having fun.

A fear I overcame was driving after I crashed my car. I crashed my car two years ago while I was in a parking lot in front of an apartment office. I was waiting for my mom who had gone inside to ask about something and I hadn’t put the car in parked. That day I wasn’t feeling well and had a lot in my mind. I wasn't really paying attention in which I should've especially when driving. After my mom had gone in the car, I hadn't realized I didn't put the car in reverse and stepped on the gas pedal really hard. I then stopped driving for about a year because I was scared and didn’t want to remember about it. My dad then started supporting me that everyone makes mistakes and that shouldn’t stop me from driving and keep practicing. Thanks to my parents that supported me I now drive again and don't have fear no more about driving but now consciously aware every time I'm in the road.

A time when I discovered a new perspective that completely changed how I viewed a person was my friend from middle school blamed me for something I never did. My friend in middle school was talking bas about a girl she didn’t like and said some things she was going to do to her. The girl found out and told the principal and called in my friend about the situation. I was then called too and thats when I found out my friend blamed me and I got in trouble instead. I then told my parents and talked to the principal saying that it was not me and it was all my friend that was talking bas about the girl. After that I didn’t talk to my friend and stayed away from her as possible. I thought she was a really sweet person and someone I could trust hut it turned out sometimes you don’t know how a person really is and that changed my thoughts about her.
